Gaming is an expensive hobby and nobody takes it seriously when you claim you can't afford a 4 dollar charge that even the heaviest of modders will only make once a month. But if your problem is with this practice itself, quit arguing about not being able to afford it. Even though Nexus has gotten really predatory recently, they're still a website/business and they have to make money somehow if you want to be able to download mods from them.Īgain I have to reiterate for everyone who reads this and gets angry at the prospect of having to pay for anything ever: the new Nexus download page is the very definition of predatory, money-grubbing anti-consumerism. I'm a broke ass college student but you bet that if I have some heavy modding to do (note "heavy", like at least a dozen mods) I'll throw in for premium. You are a gamer who pays at the absolute least like 10 bucks per game and you can't afford $4 to download as many mods as you want as fast as your internet allows in a one month time frame? I mean come on. In principle I've stood with the people who have lodged complaints against Nexus in the last few days the new design is incredibly predatory and and disrespectful to mod creators and downloaders alike, we can all agree on that.īut everyone's on here saying "I can't afford premium" and that's just absolutely silly.
